CORALINE!!! we're going with some friends on Monday the 9th of February in lieu of watching Heroes. I am WAY excited!
Nate's birthday is coming up! FEBRUARY 19th. The big 25! Happy birthday sweetie!
Also on the 19th, I am set to interview for a grad school. Pleased, but nervous. When I interviewed for the wait list of this program last year, it was just about my worst interview experience ever. I felt like the person interviewing me had already made up her mind about me (she may not have, that was just how I felt about it). Hopefully this time will go better. On the other hand, it was a good thing I was not in grad school this past year, as God had some things in store that would have been far more difficult and far less enjoyable if I was in school at the same time.
Lent starts in 3 weeks. :/ after that, no coffee for 40 days. Except Sundays. The only day of the week when Insomnia is closed. *le sigh* Can we go to Saturday sabbath for the duration of Lent? Please, pretty please?
Reminder for those in PDX - Housewarming party is this Friday (see previous entry for details). Anyone reading this blog is welcome to join us :)
2:30 am. Maybe I should go to sleep eh?
OH!!! by the way - February is Black History Month. If you're wanting a movie in a slightly different vein than Roots or The Color Purple, check out the 2007 film "Amazing Grace," which follows the 20 year struggle of William Wilberforce to abolish the slave trade in Great Britain, 100 years before the same movement occurred in the United States.

I think Amazing Grace is one of the most powerful movies I've seen.
One of my heroes is George Washington Carver.
Such a fan of Amazing Grace! I was excited when they picked Chris Tomlin's version of the song to represent the film.
Good luck with Lent-- it's tough, which I guess is good if you are purposely giving something up to focus on God. I definitely break down about once a week when I've not slept well. :oP
