- I picked a wedding dress today. It is gorgeous! I am in love.
I was in the bridal shop from 11a to 230p, took an hour lunch and came back till 430p. LONG day for that kind of activity. With Melody and my mother, I tried on around 20 dresses and it was not until about 410p that I put on the one I am now planning to buy. Oh! and the lady helping us is from Philly! She studied Fashion Design at Moore College of Art. We celebrated the Phillies winning the world series, bemoaned the Eagles' playoff lameness, salivated over our *mutual* favorite place to get falafel (BEST EVER. In front of the Dental School on 40th Street near the western end of Locust Walk.). Now I want falafel. *pouts* - We have a date, a church, a reception site, almost done with setting up photography, have chosen a color scheme, have a website, [unprinted] invitations, a condo (Nate's moving in next weekend!), a tux company (exact design not yet chosen), a budget, flower girl dresses chosen (yey for 16 bucks apiece!), and we've been engaged for almost a month with so far ZERO fights over wedding related stuff. YAY!!! 170 days to go! Whoever said we'd want to elope after 1 month of wedding planning was wrong.
- Speaking of Condos.... we are having a housewarming party on Feb 6th for anyone who want to join us. I'll post the invite later (need to fix a design issue).
- I have a part time job. To eventually ramp up to full time? Assitant to the Vice President/Director of US Offices for a small, growing international Information Services company. :)
- I *finally* got the courage up to go to see a gynecologist. Sounds like some problems I have been having are related to insulin resistance and I'm seeing a nutritionist next week to get on a food/excersize plan to a) lose weight, b) hopefully prevent type 2 diabetes and c) hopefully in the process fix the gyny issues. This is both exciting and scary as it means that there's a real reason why I have a hard time losing weight, but it also is scary because if diet and excersize is not enough, it could mean some hefty medications to manage the insulin issue.
- Also, did you know that being on hormonal birth control for at least 5 consecutive years at some point in your life reduces your risk of BOTH uterine and ovarian cancer by a WHOPPING FOURTY PERCENT?!?! I was shocked, in a good way, to hear this.
- I completed my application to George Fox's Doctorate program in Clinical Psychology. I have one more application to complete before Aug.
- Nate and I *may* have found a church.
- RYAN STRASH visited last weekend! It was happyness. :)
- Coraline is being released in 15 days. I hope to see it *shortly* thereafter (the Primier is in Portland but tickets are going for $50 a pop).
- This is a beautiful video:
- I am *very* happy.
